Favorite landscape lens...?


Makes me want to reconsider the 50mm for landscapes...!
 
I’m voting for the 1960s-vintage Nikkor UD, a monster 20mm lens that focuses down to a foot. It’s ergonomic (if big), well-constructed, and renders an image mostly free of distortion and falloff.


Being an older lens, it has compatibility issues. I shoot it with a converter on a Sony A7 body and it works great for me.

When size is an issue, I use a 25mm Snapshot Skopar from Cosima Voigtlander. Tiny lens, great performance, not quite so wide as the Nikkor UD and with some falloff at the margins but not so much as you would see with an Angulon.

 

Yes, I’ve heard of the 20mm UD.
