I have just bought a Durst CLS 450 colorhead (+ TRA450 power supply). I expect the fan to go on as soon as I power on the head, but it don't. When is the fan supposed to go on?
There is no lamp in the head and I have not yet had the oppertunity to replace with a new bulb. Does the fan actually need a lamp to run; Is the fan perhaps controlled by the lamp actually drawing current?
Anyone with experience of a CLS 450 thant can help me out!?
It turned out the fan was mounted in a position that was slightly off, enough to be clamped against the chassis in such way that the fan jammed and could not rotate freely. It is now fixed!
Good call and good troubleshooting, buy more than one bulb, much better to have a spare and not need it than to need a spare later and find out the bulb i either on backorder or no longer available (I have 6 for each of my enlargers, bought as lots on Ebay, tested and then put away, so I'm good to go-I also have a stash for my spotlight and Norman strobes).
