Famous people and their cameras

Unfortunately you don't get very far without having to register for membership. All I got to see was a number of "celebrities" with cameras in their hands but no information as to why it was their chosen camera etc.
I'll pass.

We have had many threads about this. How about doing a search and bringing one of them up again rather than starting up a thread about the same old same old?

We also should differ between those cameras being used as props or being something these folks really used.

The queen even mentioned her Rolleiflex last week on a TV documentary looking at their collection of old photographs. Unfortunately I can't find it on iPlayer to share a link.

Yeah, Pinterest is really bad about that... that's why I don't go there. And, as mentioned, their results aren't even relevant.

There seem countless photographs af her sporting a Leica M over her lifetime, but only few with a Rolleiflex.

I have a number of different cameras, but unfortunately I there are no extant pictures in the public domain of me with any of them.

Sorry to disappoint.

That the Queen was seen sporting her cameras is not that surprising, seen her generation.

But who where the first celebrities to sport a camera?

Well we learned from posts in threads elsewhere that Noah had a bottle of Rodinal but what camera he used I am not sure...

Jeff Bridges and the WideLux.
Various Beatles
Sammy Davis Jr.
The original seven US astronauts

I know Johann Wolfgang Goethe was an early pinholer - don't know what developer he was using (probably Rodinal as well) ...

It seems Audrey Tautou is a Leica fan (brief shot of the camera starting at about the 4 minute mark):

I thought this may turn into a great thread and it is looking good.

Why not, Sirius? After all it is the "other" 6x6 and can even be used without "changing lenses". Of course, I would like to have a Rolleiflex if I didn't already have a Rolleicord to go with the 500cm.. How close is this fire?.......Regards!
