F3/T with DE-2?

As far as I can tell, the Nikon F3/T was always sold with the DE-3, never the DE-2. Is this correct?

In which case, if I was to buy a F3/T with the usual DE-3, is there any problem with simply swapping the finder for a DE-2, or is there some subtle difference (other than the eyepoint, of course)?

Interesting reading. I hadn't realised that the finder on the F3/T is also titanium. Nice! Just a pity that they didn't also make a DE-2 version, but you can't have everything.
