Greetings. There's a problem with a Nikon F3HP that I've just received. The meter LCD does appear in the viewfinder, but the + and - symbols do not appear over the black 'M' in the LCD window. Also, speeds between 8s and 1/80s all appear as expected in the LCD screen area, but the display shows '80' for all speeds faster than 1/80s.The advance lever is free and is advancing film, and the mirror is operating properly. The batteries are fine, and the contacts are not corroded. I'm wondering if there's a minor glitch that I can fix, or if the electronics are going off and have to be repaired/replaced. By report, the camera was functioning properly about 1 year ago. Also, I've swapped out lenses, using AIS and AF lenses. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Tom

The “problem “ may be that you need to read the manual. F3 will display “80” until the frame counter gets to “1”. If your frame counter is past that then you might have r real problem.

Thank you BrianShaw - the camera operated perfectly once I applied your post. The "problem" was I hadn't read the manual. I did download the manual and found the relevant information in the "Frame Counter" section.
cheers

Great; glad you got it figured out. F3 is a marvelous camera. That feature seems to confuse a lot of new F3 owners.
