Eyeglass protection when using Leica RF

Besides gluing a rubber washer to the metal ring around the eyepiece do you have any other suggestions for protecting eyeglasses from scratches? I've already had to replace on lens.

I cut out little rings of thin leather.

Before cutting, I affix double-sided carpet tape to the back of the leather. (I use some goat skin and it matches the camera leather pretty closely.) Then using a circle template I pen in the concentric circles, then cut them out.

Before affixing the leather protector, clean the eyepiece with alcohol and a cotton swab.

Mine have stayed on for over a year so far, and no sliding or scratches.

Thanks everyone. The leicagoodies site is amazing! But I think I will go with the leather glued to the metal ring idea. Double sided tape perhaps.

The best thing I have found is from Aki-Asahi. He makes suede rings that affix with double stick tape. If you buy them he gives you a whole bunch! I tried the Leicagoodies ring but it was too large. Don Goldberg (DAG camera) also has a plastic (I think) cover similar to, but smaller than, the Leicagoodies one, but I haven't tried it.

Another very cheap and easy option: those rubber key rings sold at hardware stores sometimes fit. But bring the camera and try them on for size.

DAG's plastic ring works perfectly but is a bit pricy.

If it is round ...

... as are, for instance, my Retina II finders, then an O-ring that fits outside the viewfinder, but is thick enough to prevent contact with your eyeglasses, will do the trick

Match Technical Services makes a large rubber eyecup that I am tempted to try. Most get the 42mm and glasses are no problem or so I've read.
