Hello everyone! I need help. Just got back from Bryce and Zion. Move jpg files off Cannon Rebel to computer. Every file is now more than 4gb and will not open. Any ideas on why or if they can be recovered? How? Thanks in advance!

jpg files are more than 4 GB....kind of unusual.

I doubt that your 4gb files are jpg image files. For an 18 megapixel camera like the Rebel, an uncompressed tif file would be under 60mb.

How did you transfer the files to your computer?

Using windows explorer. We have never had this happen before. It’s as if they expanded during the transfer process.

It sounds like instead of downloading just a single image, you actually downloaded the entire library of images as an image, Did you use the camera as card reader, or something else?
