Hello, I bought a 35mm roll of llford SFX 200 and two of Kodak HIE off eBay. All expired around 10 years ago and most probably not kept in the best conditions. What exposure adjustments and development would you recommend (I have ID11, Agfa R09/Rodinal and Ilfosol3) to get some out of these?

Thank you so much.

Do an (there was a url link here which no longer exists) test just like any other film. Be sure to compare the exposed frame with an un-exposed frame to check the density.

Welcome to APUG

I use a red filter and meter through the lens and filter at box speed [ISO 400]. I got the best results with the Sun directly behind me. Back lighting did not work so well.

I've shot a couple of rolls of long expired HIE. I used ISO 50 or around ISO 6 if using a true IR filter. It worked alright.

Thanks. Ic-racer, that would work if I understand correctly as a test for further rolls. Which don't have. Unless I did not get the EI test? Hatchetman, what did you develop them on?
