Huntsville,
I have an older Canon FTb body that I still like to use, but the meter has long ago gone bad, so I use a handheld Sekonic meter. My longest lens is a 135mm, but I occasionally use that with a 2x teleconverter. I also use an 85mm and of course a 50mm. When I obtain a meter reading, is there a compensation that I should make for lens length?

You don't need to compensate for the focal length of the lens, but when you use the 2X converter you need to increase exposure by 2 stops.
