Likely just fine, but it's important that you test it with a roll you would be alright with losing. If you develop critical shots in it and they are ruined, it will be your own fault.
Still, I don't expect your D76 to have gone bad. Kodak dates products conservatively.
I have never experienced any problems with freshly mixed old/expired developers - I have some ancient (almost as old as me!) Selectol-Soft in a steel can which I will eventually use for some appropriate FB printing. Someday. Maybe. On my last box of Ektalure. Ha!
Does D76 in in its powder form have an expiry date? This one appears to have an expiry date of Aug 09 or is the OP misinterpreting what Aug 09 actually means in Kodak parlance? I always thought that as long as powder chemicals were unopened and the packets were not otherwise damaged the shelf life was virtually indefinite.
I obtained a 5L packet of Perceptol on e-bay. Ilford hasn't made this size for quite some time. I asked a similar question of Ilford as the OP has asked here and lford as good as stated that as long as the powders were "unsullied" then their life was virtually indefinite.
Is there any reason why the same shouldn't apply to D76 as appears to apply to Perceptol?
