In 2008 when we moved I lost a propack of 220 provia 100. We are doing a LOT of moving stuff around for the Holidays and I found the film. Needless to say I did not find it in the freezer.

I know it is toast and not usable for regular stuff but what about cross processing?

I remember, many years ago, a member of the APUG version of this site stated that old film was good for that, but I can't find that post and it seems that the member is no longer here. Anyone with experience in this area have thoughts?

John Callow is still a moderator here, even if we don't see much posting from him.
You could try "Starting a Conversation" with him - he may be happy to contribute to this thread.
One point though. Your thread title is unlikely to draw attention to your quest. Something like "Cross Processing Expired Provia" would be much more likely to pique interest. You can ask a moderator to change a thread's title by "Reporting" a post in the thread.

If I were you I´d try a roll. Most likely its ok. 10 years will leave a color cast, but I have shot a roll of Ektachrome 100 HC (120) from 2001 I found in a drawer in the studio last fall and the shots came out very well, just with a minor purple cast. I have even shot 40 Y old E200 and it came out almost perfectly. If you don´t believe it I´ll add proof later. 2008 is 'fresh' for me ! I have loads of outdated film in fridge to use up.

I find that 10-year old fuji slide film tends to have a slightly warm color cast, but not disturbingly so. Just try a roll in regular e6; it may be fine.
