Hi folks!

Being affected by a serious G.A.S. in my quest for nice (and possibly cheap) old cameras, I recently got a Smena SL. The main feature of this Soviet camera is the use of Agfa Rapid System cartridges (12 frames) for loading 35 mm film. As there was only 1 cartridge in my camera, I had to find some other to use it. I found a seller who had some expired (1992) sealed rolls of GDR's Orwo NP20 (80 ISo) b/w film.
Once ended the roll I had to decide the development time with my go-to developer (Ars-Imago Fd), and opted for 6' @20°C using the Agfa Rondinax System. I was lucky and film came out nicely developed, with almost no base fog. The Orwo rolls have evidently been properly stored.

Slight corrcetion: the SL cassette is not identical to the Rapid cassette. Think of the SL cassette as a plastic version of the Agfa Karat cassette.
The Rapid cassetttes have film speed indicators. Think of an early, mechanical DX-System. (Though not all Agfa Rapid cameras used it.)

But nevertheless the Rapid cassettes can be used in SL and Karat cameras, as those indicators are in a recess.
