My last attempt to get some advice on E6 labs bombed. So I try again. Does anyone of you have any experiences (good or bad) with Metrocolourlab (UK). They have decent prices for both development and scanning.
If you mean the UK lab they are OK, I've not used Peter Gaffney for about 20 years but he does the colour D&P and E6 for many shops in the Birmingham area as well as through mail order and the lab counter.
I never used him for E6 because he doesn't do large format, and I used a lab 5 minutes from him. I did use him for C41 snaps when he had a shop, and also bought an enlarger from him. He's been around a long time with a good reputation.
When I worked as an assistant in London, a couple of the photographer's I worked with used Metro - they were very happy with the results and wouldn't dream of using anybody else.
Thank you. I will give them a try. Have a roll of Astia in the Rollei. It's actually cheaper for me to send this roll to UK for developing/scanning than to a lab in Finland. Crazy world this.
Shimoda, have you tried "Who's Next Lab" in Helsinki, Sörnäisten Rantakatu 38 (I think). It's a regular place for art school students and other colour film connoisseurs. They do E6 and C41, all sizes. Cost for development is €6 for a roll (135/120). They don't do scanning unfortunately.

I haven't tried them. I had one roll developed at Kuva-Paijula in Turku. Very good result and price is also good. Unfortunately their scanning prices for 120-films is too much (IMO).
Maybe I need to get myself a scanner. Or maybe a 6x6 projector. Or both.

A different lab Nannette. Metrocolour in Birmingham is more biased to amateur work while Metro in Clerkenwell, London is a high end pro lab. The prices will be quite different as well as the services offered.
