Experiences with "hong kong" screen for rollei

Hi everyone.
Has anybody any experiences with the cheap screen for the rolleiflexes that you can buy from hong kong on ebay:

I'm thinking about getting one for my 2.8d untill I can afford a maxwell screen. It's just too dificult to focus with the stock screen. I'm wondering if it's easy too focus on the entire screen with it, of if it's "just" bright.

I saved a link for how to adapt a Mamiya screen, but that one looks easier, and is cheaper

If it's as bright as the seller claims it's worth buying, I've not used my Rolleiflex yet but my old Rolleicord's screen was dim and a better screen would have helped enormously.

Going by the big differences in plain glass LF screens it's very likely this screen should be a significant improvement. Thanks for posting the link, I'm ordering one.

I got one, it helped a lot on my Rollei 3.5. Also, while you're installing it it's a good time to clean dust out of the mirror box

Please revive this thread when the screen is in and installed. I'd like to hear how it works out.
(The truth be known, I have not had any issues with the screen on my 3.5f. The repair tech who takes care of my cameras commented on its brightness.)

The adaption of the Mamiya RZ standard screen is easy as pie, if you are able to find one to cut to size. I know I don't need another screen, it is very clear and bright. And the cost was the same as the redleica one.

The reply from redleica was he doesn't have screens for Yashicas, but I too have now ordered a Rollieflex screen. I will see what the difference is compared to the Yashica screen.

I had figured adapting the RZ screen was very easy, but buying one that fits does save the hassle of finding one then cutting it down.

Ok so I got mine... I don't like it, although it's a lot brighter than the stock screen for my 2.8d, I still find focussing with the original screen much easier. Also, the quality of this screen is far from top notch, it arrived with some scratches, and the split image is not completely centered. What's nice about it, is that the ilumination is even through out, and the thickness matches, so you don't have to fiddle with the viewing lens. I'm selling it for half price of the purchase price, so 20 dollars if anyone's interested.
