I have the chance to get hold of a Taylor, Taylor and Hobson 2" lens (details unknown), as well as a Wray Supar of the same focal length. Can someone tell me if there are likely to be any pleasing attributes to these lenses for B&W. I very rarely touch 35mm now and have a 50mm Apo Rodagon, so to bother having a go, I would like to know if they would deliver a pleasing noticable difference rather than just "not up to the Rodagon" image.

I have no idea, but can you request sample images? What's pleasing to others may not be pleasing to you.

I'm using a 4 1/4" Wray Supar for 6x9 negatives. It seems to work, and I haven't had any complaints yet. Nor have I found any reason to replace it with another lens!

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, sample images would be a great idea. Maybe comparing the print from either of these lenses with such as a Rodagon would be very helpful. The TTH lens is a 3.5 Ental with a strange f-stop scale of 1, 2, 4, 8.
