Hello!

I'm Simon and I own a small YouTube channel featuring railroad videography of historic equipment. I've recently been noticing that I'm no different from a plethora of other YouTube channels doing the same thing. Often times than not, my video could be the same as somebody standing next to me at the same event. So I've decided that to better represent the era I specialize in, what better to do than start filming with analog. As well as this, I was also discovering that my grandfather had his own hobby for videography and it turns out his Argus Super8 and his DeJUR 8mm(Magazine 8?) had been left to my father after he passed away when I was a child. He had purchased this Argus Super8 and a DeJUR 8mm camera overseas while he was in the Navy.

Because of these two factors I decided to purchase some Super8 film and begin to shoot analog as well as digital. This memorial day weekend I went out and filmed Norfolk & Western #611, a famous american steam locomotive, in Super8. This was probably the first time this camera had an outing since the 70s or 80s. I'm currently searching for a place to get it developed, so it can be transferred and uploaded to my channel. (I was going to choose Pro8mm, but their reviews seemed... meh)

If you wish, here is the line to my Youtube Channel:

Welcome!

I already hinted at processing at your other thread.
However to me it makes no sense taking the film on S-8 and then scanning it, rather then projecting it on a S-8 projector. Though I know that not all fellows here share my view.

contact your local wal mart to see if they send out.
if they do, it goes wally's > fuji > dwaynes
it used to be cheap as dirt, $4.88 ( even 16mm film )
my local mom/pop mini lab and a local repair shop can convert your film to vid .. maybe yours can too ?

nice channel !

Welcome to APUG

But does Wal Mart return the negatives? If not go elsewhere.
