I had to go up to London yesterday and was lucky enough to get to see the Sarah Moon Exhibition on at the Royal College of Art. The amount of work on display was incredible, some 150 black and white/colour prints nearly exclusively shot on Polaroid 55 film. The sad thing is that it’s only on for a week (17th to 25th October) so I imagine not a lot of people will be able to see it. However if you do get a chance this week I can highly recommend going as it was one of the best photography exhibitions I have seen in a very long time, anyone who is remotely interested in photography or fashion will love it.

If you miss this one the Michael Hoppen Gallery also has an exhibition of her work on until mid November, although it does not have as many of her prints on display. There is also a book, well 5 books in one package, on this work which is very well printed, quite pricey at £95 but can be bought through the internet for £65.

Many thanks Dave for reminding me. I assumed it was on for at least a month not a week. That's Saturday sorted!

Thanks for reminding me too. I'd read about this somewhere and then forgotten it was so soon. I'd been thinking I'd give myself the day off tomorrow and now I have a perfect reason!

Good exhibition space. What's your view on displaying prints of differences sizes, with uneven horizontal and vertical spacing, as compared to equal horizontal spacing, shown in the second image?

Hi Tom i think for her pictures the uneven spacing works really well, its a bit similar to how Yammamoto displays his pictures, although on a much smaller scale. Each print is individual but is also interlinked with the others on the wall, I feel this is a good way to representing this fact. The sheer amount of work that has gone into putting up this show is amazing, it really is ridiculous that its only on for a week. I forgot to mention that there are two videos at the show that Moon made herself that are also worth watching.

Watch out for the tubes this weekend - I understand that the service is severely restricted. Think I might try to drag myself over there today.

Well, I went and was pleased. If you can make it over before the exhibition ends, do so. Cheers for the heads up on the show Dave, I'd forgotten all about it!
