Dear photrio members,
we both need and like film cameras . For several years now the "Camera Rescue" team in Finland is searching for unused film cameras, checking them, repairing them if needed and selling them to new owners for a new life in usage. They have built up their Camera Rescue Center in Tampere as a new film photography "hot spot" including lab, show rooms, educational rooms, camera and film store and - as the important "heart" of the center - a very modern and excellent equipped repair facility with several very experienced repair technicians and camera makers. One of their activities has also been education of young repair technicians.
Their goal is to rescue 100,000 cameras until the end of this year. But they know it is not enough for the current film revival.
Therefore they want to empower more film photographers all over the world to rescue unused cameras and to repair them if needed (basic repairs which can be done by yourself at home). They want to share their knowledge with the film photography community!
And making video online courses teaching all what is needed to find and repair so far unused cameras and get them back in operation:
I know the Camera Rescue team personally and really appreciate their excellent work over the last years. These guys are reliable and trustworthy. This is an outstanding project which deserves our full support!
