I wanted to give a recommendation for Camera Service Company here in Atlanta. They recently repaired my 120mm Makro lens which had a bad shutter. I had previously gotten a sky high $1000 (not a typo) estimate from another Hasselblad repair man. Mr. Park at Camera Service Company repaired it for $230, including parts. The turnaround from drop off to being finished was one week! Top notch!
He also repaired a vintage Dagor for a friend for under $200.
I've already dropped my 80mm with them for a CLA and plan on rotating all of my Hasselblad gear through the shop over the next few months. They work on all kinds of cameras, and you can ship gear to them as well.
I concur. I just found Mr. Park's shop this month (although he has been here for decades), and found his service to be wonderful and his prices fair. He is also a very nice gentleman.
Thanks for the recommendation. I used another Atlanta area shop - which shall remain nameless - to "fix" the rapid battery drain on my Pentax MX. I told them to take their time, since the battery drain took several weeks. As far as I could tell nothing was done, the problem persisted. I'll see what Camera Service Company can do with my MX, and also my Bronica S2a which needs mirror bumpers and focus screen "spacers."
That is great to hear. I have a Hasselblad 60mm that was made in 1958 with a very stiff focusing ring (but shutter times are accurate) that I will send off for a CLA.
I used them once for a couple of zooms that had wonky focus. They always do an estimate before doing anything. I would use them again if I needed them, and thinking about sending in my MX for a CLA.
