Evaluating RA4 prints.

I have a roller transport processor, and I use Kodak Pro test strips to monitor my chemistry. As a fine-art photographer who sells his work, I am also very much interested in making sure that my prints are properly fixed and washed to insure image stability and guard against premature fading.

Will the test strips I use detect problems with insufficient washing? If not are there any tests I can do to insure my wash unit is washing the paper properly?

Use standard hypo and silver retention tests for your color prints. A small piece of unexposed paper run through your process should help, and if it passes the test you are in good shape.

PE, I have investigated your suggestion for testing my paper, and I am a little confused. The only hypo test I have found is Edwal Hypo Check which is designed to check the fix solution for exhaustion due to silver saturation. How do I apply that to paper after I have processed it?

Please check the Formulary web site or the Kodak formula books. They have a retained hypo test kit and a retained silver halide test kit.
