Arrived quickly, but my daughter tells me I must report the poor packing. I don’t want to because the darn thing works! Soon as I replaced the cord and confirmed no short I plugged it in and all the lights came on and the sensor responds to light.

Serious smoke residue (probably a fire salvage), but that’s all cleaned up and ready to put back together.

Working on grounding now.

Any landing is a good landing in the parcel delivery game.

Inside the front. That big aluminum can is the “sensitivity adjustment. I don’t know if it’s all potentiometer or a smaller one in a big shield.

All the electronics are “floating”. There’s nothing inside touching case ground. But the case is grounded now, ground reaches the probe as well.

That's great! Reminds me of a friend's story; His father was working on an old 1960's TV, powered up and with the back off. He touched something that he shouldn't have and was blown back about 3 feet. When my friend reached his father, his quote was, "Son, I taste Copper".

Good idea on the ground...

Here’s what the light detector looks like. Photomultiplier tube (PMT). There is a labyrinth behind the grid. These “dynyodes” amplify the light as it goes through

SO COOL, LOOKING FORWARD TO UPDATES MORE PHOTOS.

Eseco had an amazing system, I've never used but looks amazing. Everything tied together. I have a roll paper easel from these guys.

I don't see where they get the high voltage. I think PMT needs 1000VDC to work.
