Hi Ron,
I was wondering: If I make a batch of the erythrosine orthochromatic emulsion from the class handouts, would the adition of a red sensitizing dye after washing create a panchromatic dye? That is something I have not tried yet. So far, I have been adding both green and red sensitizing dyes after washing. But I recall that erythrosine must be present durring percipitation to work.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill;

It might. IDK. The problem with Erythrosine is that it is not used in the most classic manner being added after the emulsion is made. Erythrosine, as I teach in class, is added before the emulsion is made. So, I cannot predict what might result. The other dyes that we discussed here on APUG would be better choices.
