Era films and paper

Some time ago in another thread it's been asked if Era films and papers are still being made. After wandering around the net for a while I have found the company home page, and yes, they are still being made. Wondering if someone will pick this account up :confused:

I have not seen any ERA products in the US, but it looks like they make contact printing paper as well as enlarging paper.

I put some feelers out for this product and found that there was someone in Australia importing their 35mm bulk film. Who that suposedly is, I haven't been able to find out.

With the few aggressive Chinese importers of photographic studio flash systems and background paper hanging systems doing quite well, I thought it may be one of them.

I had an off the record telephone talk with one of them and she implied that they didn't see a market for B&W film, 35mm & sheet in this country, but with Agfa products possibly exiting the scene, next year could be different.

Their website is quite interesting, I especially liked the formulae listed after each group of products.

Lovers of low speed films might be interested to see that this company still manufacture a ISO 25 speed film (in bulk lengths) which they claim is fine grain. They don't seem to mention 120 size rollfilms on their site (but only had a quick look) I have never ever seen this brand in the UK.

Very interesting -- I also see no mention of 120, but it seems they make ISO 100 sheet film, in "plate" sizes (quarter plate, half plate, full plate, and for some reason, 10x12 inch), as well as "New" 4x5 inch size, and a range of both fiber and RC papers, as well as the ISO 25 and ISO 100 35 mm bulk stocks.

I've started using J&C Pro 100 in 120, and I think I'm going to like this film. Previous posts indicate it's made in China, but not by Lucky. Do you suppose?

You'd have to ask J&C -- they have a rep on APUG and are sponsors. Their official line has been that the film is custom coated for them (i.e. unique emulsion) in China on pre-WWII machines and then the master rolls cut and perfed or put on backing elsewhere (I don't know where).
