Equivilent for Kodak Ektalure

Having recently started a thread about a box of Kodak Ektalure I bought in a job lot of darkroom stuff, I am really intrigued by this paper.

The photographer I bought it off was raving about it and I believe it used to be used for those classic Hollywood shots of the stars of the 1930's.

I have already decided that the paper will be reserved for only the best negatives and the most important and appropiate subject matter.

However I am a novice printer and before cracking into the box, which is all nice and new and sealed, I want to find an equivilent similar paper to practice with. (all my printing so far has been with RC)

I know that there is probably nothing technically equivilent, but I want something as close as possible. The surface of the Ektalure is G.

Consider Kentmere VC Warm or Forte PW17
Sadly the closest was the discontinued Polymax C

Forte made something with a nice surface and I think "fine art" in the name. Not really the same as Ektalure, dispite their claim. You might try cutting up a few sheets of your paper in to 5x7's to get some experience.

I am hording two 100 sheet boxes of 8x10 and deciding when and for what to use it.

I did several comparison prints on Forte PW semimatt and while not identical, it's very similar and you have to look hard to tell them apart -though Ektalure goes pinker in selenium.
