I have a 25' roll of regular double 8mm, which I developed after finding it in a camera. It looks to be from about '78 or so. I was able to obtain images, but they're too faint for me to pick up. I think I might have to project the film and record the image off the projection. Unfortunately, I don't know how to slit the 16mm wide film into the two 8mm lengths. How would I do this?
I have a slitter to cut two Minox 9.2mm film strips from 35mm stock. One of these could be made to split double-8. Look here: http://www.subclub.org/sponsors/goathil2.htm The Minox slitter is the one I use, and it works great. Scroll down near the end of the page - there is a listing of what you want. It wouldn't be very hard to make one for 16mm to 8mm. They will make you one, but if you only have one roll, the cost may be a bit high. In any case, you might want to talk to the folks at Goat Hill.
