These are the Epson V500 scanner drivers for Linux.

Epson apparently doesn’t give them out anymore so these are the European version X770.

I have been going bananas trying to get my Epson V500 film scanner working with Vuescan Software. (Hamrick.com). With Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon.

64bit drivers. First file. Extract zip to folder, then read the read me file.

From WITHIN the extracted folder right click to open a “terminal window”.

Paste the 3 line code in the help file into the terminal. Enter password.

One that is done download Vuescan from Hamrick dot com and extract to your home folder. Right click to run Vuescan as “root”

Plug in your Epson V500 and turn it on. Start the Vuescan software and it should work just like on OSX and Windows.

If you are a Film photographer and want to use Linux then this will help.
