In UK the P700 has been an unmitigated disaster! There are numerous posts on the web about paper feed problems, including a lot from the USA. Mine lasted about 1 month when it started to play up and Epson claimed they have never had a problem with them - at first. They tried to say it was the thickness of the paper.
The 1st major stumbling block was when I had to print about 60 pages x 3 copies of a document. Instead of taking perhaps 3-4 hours it took me two and a half days. They could not repair the printer to cure the problem because there were no spares available and no new P700 printers were expected until at least April. They took it back and refunded me in full. In it's place I bought a Canon Prograff 300. This a far nicer printer, far better made and I did not even have to re-calibrate the screen. There have also been similar problems with the P900 as the P700, but not so widespread. It has not been confirmed, but there was a suggestion from my supplier that the P700 has been withdrawn from sale for a redesign of the paper feeds.
Compared to the Canon printer, the P700 is cheap and nasty! Epson certainly have not improved their public standing with the P700.
