Unless I've gone mad. The latest firmware update for the Epson SC-P700 (KH29L1) has added another option for the Front Paper Feeder. "No eject roller glossy paper". I've been using the "Poster Board" option, taping transparency to this with some success to avoid pizza wheel marks. I tried a single sheet of transparency with this new option but it got rejected as the wrong paper type. I cannot find any documentation anywhere about option. Does anyone else know anything?

Poster board option has been my process of choice on my P400 for countering the sheet feeding problem. I doubt anyone here has this new printer, though. You might have better luck on the Luminous Landscape forum.

I have been struggling with the front feed for printing digital negs as well.
I use a P900, but it seems the workflow with a P700 is identical.
My working parameters are as following:
Transparency taped down on a poster board and fed into printer as 'poster board' source choice.
You have to use a paper size (on the printer menu) that is identical to the paper size chosen on the print driver (on your computer) with the 'poster board' option for that particular paper size set on the print driver menu.
If front end printer driver and printer side settings do not match, the printer refuses to print. (I have not managed custom paper sizes to work)

In UK the P700 has been an unmitigated disaster! There are numerous posts on the web about paper feed problems, including a lot from the USA. Mine lasted about 1 month when it started to play up and Epson claimed they have never had a problem with them - at first. They tried to say it was the thickness of the paper.

The 1st major stumbling block was when I had to print about 60 pages x 3 copies of a document. Instead of taking perhaps 3-4 hours it took me two and a half days. They could not repair the printer to cure the problem because there were no spares available and no new P700 printers were expected until at least April. They took it back and refunded me in full. In it's place I bought a Canon Prograff 300. This a far nicer printer, far better made and I did not even have to re-calibrate the screen. There have also been similar problems with the P900 as the P700, but not so widespread. It has not been confirmed, but there was a suggestion from my supplier that the P700 has been withdrawn from sale for a redesign of the paper feeds.

Compared to the Canon printer, the P700 is cheap and nasty! Epson certainly have not improved their public standing with the P700.
