Epson 550 negative holder

I am having a problem getting my film straight in the plastic negative holder that came with the Epson 550. There doesn't seem to be enough of the holder to adequately grab the film on both sides. I don't find gloves to be much help. Are there any aftermarket holders that are easier to work with?

I have a v550 as well.

I am assuming this is for 120, as I have the same experience at times.

One technique that I have used is that I put the film in the holder, then slowly lower the top holder part while bringing the rest of the film down. It kind of uses it as a track.

The problem seems to arise when I place the film in the holder then try to close the top part down.
