I just bought my friend's Canon EOS 500 (notice the absence of the letter 'D') for $65, complete with the 35-80mm f4-5.6 kit lens. I actually like it better than my 300D since it's more pleasurable to hold and use. Does anyone know a way to set the AF mode on this camera? The manual from Canon's site says that this camera has AI Servo in the creative modes but I can't see anyway to activate it. A Google search didn't help since all the results were for the 500D.

Ah, I didn't phrase my question clearly. I was asking how to set the camera to AI Servo not just one shot AF.

i went looking and found this comment at http://www.eosdoc.com/manuals/?q=500
In most operating modes, AI FOCUS is used. This means that the camera will choose ONE SHOT autofocus for still subjects, and continuous (SERVO) autofocus if the subject moves.

Unfortunately, subject motion is often not reliably detected. Use the SPORTS mode to force the camera to use continuous (SERVO) autofocus

I tried tracking passing cars and people and the autofcous was spot on. I can't wait to use it for sports.
