Stop in every now and then to B&H to check on this camera. Today, I noticed it is discontinued. Started checking used prices and there are still good deals to be had. Contacted Canon Service and was told the 1v will be serviced up until Nov. 2017. Hope some of you find this helpful. Cheers!

Too bad  I have EOS 1V HS and it's very wonderful 35mm camera, I like it and I like the options (although mostly I don't use them). I got mine from eBay in really nice condition for $400. Be careful though if you want to buy it from eBay, most sellers don't have the battery or the charger which are pretty hard to find. There's a trick though if you found one and can't find the battery is that you buy the battery of the new D Mark and unscrew the cover and replace it with the battery grip cover then it will fit.

I think what B&H had on had was old stock, Canon has not made a film camera in years, Nikon still makes the F6 and FM, and someone is making the k mount body rebranded by Vivitar and Promaster, made in China I think.

Yup. For a long time, B&H was the last US retailer to show it. The Canon Japan and Canon Europe websites still list the 1V; presumably it will disappear from those sites as well when the respective regional stocks run out.

Nikon still makes the F6 and FM

Nikon makes the F6, Cosina makes the FM10.

There's acres of them on the second hand market , I bought all .my cameras used over the last thirty plus years and have.never regretted it.

I have wondered how many F6 bodies Nikon sells in a year. I must be very lonely to be working in the film part of Nikon right now. I think this whole digital fad will fade after a while....then those camera companies will be sorry. (right....)

I bought a 1V six months ago from Japan for $400 and absolutely love it. My 5D3 is generous enough to share his glass. I would like to find other 1V users to chat about settings and favorite films.

Nikon has not made the F6 in years and years, most likely since the D2Xs was discontinued.

Saw one last Sunday bought new three years ago it came with dated letter in English from assembly worker thanking the new owner for keeping him in work. He was hand building on demand.

They would have had spares as well.

1VHS is still the best camera Canon has ever made or likely ever will make.

[The F6] came with dated letter in English from assembly worker thanking the new owner for keeping him in work.

One of the greatest things I ever heard out of the industry.

B&H still lists the F6 new and in stock. Price $2399, I will just keep using my F5.

Nikon Store carries it for $2669.95 along with accessories, including the battery grip, focusing screen, and camera case.
