Hi everyone!

I started printing b/w photos quite a few years ago with a Meopta Axomat 5a. This enlarger had a ground glass in the filter drawer and I always thought it made sense to diffuse a bit the light from the bulb before it passes through the condenser.
After the upgrade to a Durst M670 BW it always annoyed me, that the border that holds the gelatin filter is so narrow, making changing filters a challenge.

To solve this I went back to the concept in the Meopta, but this time with translucent polycarbonate instead of glass (with LED light bulbs nothing gets hot). I have not really noticed any differences in the prints due to the extra "diffusion" (apart from around 1-stop less light, which kind of helps with my LED bulb) but now changing the filters is a piece of cake.

I was wondering if someone else has made this or other mods to the enlarger. It would be nice to know!
