Enlarger Dust Cover tip

I use plastic construction bags. They cover my Leitz 1c & Beseler 23c II XL nicely from head to toe. I get my bags at Wal-Mart.

My Durst M601 which was a 21sr Birthday present from my Scottish Grandmother came new with a cover a few decades ago A second M601 head is in it now . . . . . . .

I've never covered my enlargers, what's the point - it's never been an issue and they were left for months between printing sessions while I was living anbroad.

Another vote for construction garbage bags. My darkroom is very dusty and they work great.

I have 8 or 9 beautiful high-end enlargers--that's the point.

Another vote for construction garbage bags. My darkroom is very dusty and they work great.

My loving wife suggested the construction bags. Effective and cheap! But ugly!

I have a vinyl outdoor grill cover that is huge. I never use it because it's so cumbersome. I spotted some drum liners at work maybe I will give that a try. I keep things clean, I use a Swifter duster

I use a large yard garbage bag also, any dust the settles in my darkroom (really a bedroom) at least won't find it's way into the enlarger...the less pulling apart and cleaning the better in my opinion.

I keep a small electrostatic air cleaner running in my darkroom, I haven't covered my enlarger in years, zero dust issues (and I have a dog that has full access to the room). Plastic covers are best option, not cloth. Dust tends to cling to the plastic and not get released back into the air when lifting the cover off.

I use 20 gallon kitchen garbage bags. I find enlargers tend to gather dust no matter how clean I try to keep my darkroom. I hate dust spots on my prints!
