Hi,

I ordered a spare bulb for my Durst 4x5. I took the old bulb out to get the # off of it etc. The old bulb has a smooth reflector inside and I ordered this surface, however they sent me one with a non smooth reflecting surface inside (somewhat resembles a disco ball). Is this going to be a problem? Should I send it back? I can't see why it would be an issue but thought I better ask..

If your durst is a diffusion type I wouldn't worry too much. As a test do a print on VC paper without a neg using the highest magenta setting with each bulb and go for a grey tone. Any irregularities will be exagerrated by the high contrast and should tell you if theres a difference between the two bulbs. The faceted reflector should give a more diffuse pattern than the smooth reflector actually.
