hello all,
i am interested in finding the chemicals used to coat the polyester base in the cibachrome process.

can one locate the dyes in liquid form, outside of polyester base?

any information would be great.

Cibachrome made a retouch kit with IIRC 6 dyes. IDK if they were the same dyes as Cibachrome; but they were invisible when used carefully.

Keep in mind that Cibachrome is now known as Ilfochrome...

I have the azo dye types written down at home somewhere. I'm sure you can buy the dyes as a powder and then mix a dye solution to some success.

As for the dyes being available from Ilford Imaging, i'd contact them. I've never seen anything of the sort.

you can buy the dye for retouching and it is exactly the same dye as is already in the material.

They were offered in naps like watercolours. Seemingly those azo-dyes in a watersoluble binder.
