I went there today and well worth a look. Free entrance of course and free parking in all of Daventry car parks. Most time limits are 2 hours which is more than enough time for the exhibition but if you make a day of it there are some unrestricted parking areas. Wetherspoon's and other pubs and cafes serving food nearby to Library. If you like a stroll, we have a country park which surrounds the reservoir which feeds the Grand Union Canal nearby. Wild fowl, kids play area, small cafe. Or Burrough Hill which housed the BBC world service transmitter and masts until recently Again a nice stroll around it and the highest point on the globe in a due Easterly direction until the Ural mountains in Russia which are too far away unless you are a very good walker but a good test for very long focus lenses. Can't get lost either. The town's too small.
About 15 miles from Banbury and 32 from Oxford, 18-20 miles from Coventry and Warwick, 33 from Milton Keyenes, 25-27 from Leicester and about 45 from centre of Brum.
