Emmanuelle and Vaselined Lens

I went last time to watch Emmanuelle 28 years ago , everything forgotten in that time , I learned Kristel passed away as a old and ugly woman from drugs , cigar , alcohol.

I read all her movies shot with vaselined lenses and heavily. I visited youtube and watched some horrible tutorials have no business with art. She had an art nouveau taste and all the shots were perfect.

What is the secret of vaseline coating of lenses ?

the best way to do this is with a FILTER ...
that way you dont put the stuff right on the lens
which might be a pain to remove ..
the more the vaseline, the mor soft/blurred the image is
and this can be seen through the eyepiece if its a SLR or through
experience when using a RF ... clearing a hole in the middle might
make it easier to focus see the subject, and offer a sweet spot ...
peeks and valleys, dense areas and thin areas all give different e/affects

I remember it was not blur but glow. Contrast was very high and golden broderies were glowing. I watched at youtube with your technique and these canon dslrs , what a horrible things.

Is there a chance , Emmanuelle recorded or printed by Hong Kong technicolor , all these strong contrast and strong colors but elegant skin tones makes me remember Hong Kong Kung Fu films , they were the last technicolor films and their original prints are priceless now.
