Damn, that's sad. I've been there once and though I'm not a Leica man, I was glad to see all the Forte paper, and the other analog gear. They were really a nice boutique shop.
Often checked their used gear online but never understood the sky-high '90s pricing, especially after the big auction site pulled the rug from under the second-hand market among the TO shops.
Hundreds of thousands of photographic stores have closed down worldwide since the advent of of digital photography, photography has become a computer accessory, and the equipment is more likely to be sold by computer or electrical retailers.
That's too bad. It wasn't my main shop for photo supplies, but it was a nice alternative for certain films and papers when I was studying photography at Ryerson.
Sorry to hear. I have bought photo gear and supplies around Toronto since the mid 80's, and never found the calling to get over his way, though I knew the shop was there.
For the last 5 or more years I have really more been looking at the used market, so I suppose my actions inadvertently are a part of this demise of shop closings.
