You must live close to the source. My rodinal is always at least tea colored by the time I get the bottle in my hands. And more like coke usually.

Where did you get your last bottle? Mine came from Freestyle Photo and it is a pretty light pinky-orange like the above. However, the R09 stuff is usually darker when "new". My understanding is that it has to do with the production facility. Agfa mixes and bottles under inert gas so minimal oxidation. Foma/Calbe not so much. But both should work fine.

And we are both pretty much the same shipping distance from each coast, Ames IA vs Lawrence KS.

I have bought all of my Rodinal from Freestyle. I may have hit the end of a big batch or something.

I don't make any attempts to keep the 02 out of mine either, so it's pretty black by the time I'm finishing a bottle.

As per driving with two bottles like that: When I was in college, I was tied up on the telephone and went to get a drink of pepsi and accidentally grabbed a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and almost had it swallowed before I realized what I had done ;-)

I hope you don't have the same thing happen while driving!
