But I do have a brain, and I did engage it when I read the sites you link to as "evidence", and especially the AMDF site which clearly isn't a quack outfit (unlike so many "health" sites), and they mentioned links with intense blue light but not a shred of a suggestion or evidence that using EVFs will lead to problems.

There doesn't seem to be a single shred of evidence for significant problems arising from this, and EVFs have been around for decades in the TV & film industries.

I slightly regret posting in a sarcastic tone, but only very slightly - faced with this sort of "Daily Mail"-style scaremongering, humour seems to me an entirely appropriate response.

Or to put it another way ...

Kent Brockman: Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?

Professor: Yes I would, Kent.

You can't help but be sarcastic when you read such drivel that has an obvious prejudice. To suggest you need to perform gymnastics to compose with a DSLR is saying the same thing about 35mm.
LCD monitors were developed to reduce UV exposure, you get more UV coming through an optical finder than a LCD display.

Its a cheap shot on all your parts who are looking for a way to degrade DSLR's. Grow up.
But DSLR's don't have electronic viewfinders...

Prejudice?...well I've used digital as well as film cameras for many years in a professional capacity, so please explain your allegations of "prejudice". You also might like to explain where you have seen any reference to "having to perform gymnastics to operate a DSLR" in my posts?

Since you seem to have a problem accurately quoting my posts, I will mention yet again, possible long term problems exist in the excessive use of MULTIPLE computer devices. (I have not alleged that on their own electronic viewfinders are the problem, they just add to the mix) Digital photography also means long hours in front of computer screens editing work.

If you want to read about the possible risks to eye health from exposure to ultra-violet and blue light emitted from computer screens there are plenty of sites you can visit, starting with the "Digital Photography" one mentioned in a previous post. Although it deals with blue light danger from computers both lap top and android/I-phone devices, most photographers will also be regular users of these

If you are going to respond then please try to do so in an intelligent and informed manner, rather than with derogatory, meaningless remarks.

Rather arrogant to think I'm only quoting you.Read the thread, you will see what I quoted. The derogatory remarks are coming from those who are buying into the absurd notion that it is a conspiracy on manufacturers part to suppress information on the dangers of electronic view finders.

If you were informed you would know that an independent testing lab reported "unable to detect any UVA or UVB using meters capable of measuring as low as 1 microwatt per square centimeter in the UVA and UVB spectrum."

Why is this thread in the 35mm camera section? What 35mm camera has an electronic viewfinder? This thread should be in the place one puts threads along the lines of 'Elvis Lives' and 'Is God Real'...

It should be deleted as manufacturer bashing and for spreading myths. There are tons of 35mm cameras with electronic view finder information, you can add them as they have the same perceived dangers as full EFV units. But this topic is somewhat off topic.
