I'm trying to fix a Konica Hexar RF that has the error code 20, which is related to the shutter. I've already identified the shutter cocking motor as working fine, the geared mechanism also seems to do its job properly.
It seems the shutter doesn't close fully, there is a tiny gap along the bottom edge of the visible curtain at the moment. I'm assuming the shutter has somehow gotten out of adjustment or is broken altogether. This is why I'm reaching out to someone that may have already worked on a shutter like this before!
I'm looking for either a direct replacement (somehow the Nidec Copal shutters installed in new Sony cameras look very similar, although this shutter is two decades older, date code 1999), a donor camera of sorts, or any way of repairing the shutter I have at hand.
- Has anyone seen exactly this shutter before and can point me to a camera I could use as a donor?
- Does anyone know how to cock and fire this shutter outside of the camera to test it?
- Does anyone have a video/demonstration/schematic of how this shutter is meant to operate (meaning the tiny levers/solenoids inside)?
Here are a couple photos of the offending part:
Thanks for your time!
