I fixed the pad of death on my yashica electro35 today, it took me about 2 days to fix due to not having much patience, there wasn't much online on fixing it but enough to guide me through it. Anyone know anything this camera/problem?

Lol Dan. That's one repair I'll never attempt.

I did the fix myself on my Electro 35. It was not so easy as it appears on the internet. It was laborious; also, depending on the size of the "pad" you install, you need to recalibrate the height of the mechanism that strikes against the pad. This is also described on the net. It is not difficult, but you need time and patience.

The reward was good -- the Electro 35GSN was much better than its specs on paper would make you think of. It has nothing extra-ordinary but it has the synergy of good components: Reliable meter, good viewfinder, good focusing, sharp lens with very nice bokeh, long battery life, easy operation.

I gave it away to a cousing after i got the Electro 35GL, but that was a mistake.
