What is the best way to make an electrical shutter release for cameras that accept standard shutter release cable? If you read the previous thread about scope camera I am thinking about doing the following.
I want to check the shutter speed of old cameras and almost all of them accept standard threaded shutter release cable. I will be using an analog oscilloscope and because of that I would want to record the display with a scope camera (I can read the display as it has sufficient persistent to do so) just for record. The scope is set to be triggered by the rising voltage from the photo sensor and is for single event. I am thinking if I set the shutter speed of the scope camera to about 1/2 second and use the flash sync contact to release the shutter of the camera under test it would work. Now I need a way to release the shutter with the contact of the flash sync of the scope camera.
Any idea?
Yeah the op in that thread wanted either wireless or 100ft range. I only need a few feet and by wire not wireless. I am thinking of pneumatic using canned air and a solenoid valve.
