Elecroplating Silver and Photography ?

I read that there are 40 photons needed to expose an silver grain. I thought if increased sensivity needed , there would be more photons or silver.
I thought to electroplate an silver compound on a transparent film or metal at dark and exposing it at the camera. Is this a working model ?
