Is it safe to use a 250W ELC bulb instead of a 200W EJL bulb in an 1989 Fujimoto 450M-C with a dichroic head? The enlarger has a large voltage stabilizer and it worked without any problems for a few months with an EJL bulb that came with it. ELC bulbs are easily available for me locally, unlike EJL bulbs. Apart from the 50W difference in wattage (and a third of the price), they have exactly the same characteristics of focus, voltage and colour balance. What might be the biggest potential risk here?

If you have ever spent one or two months troubleshooting and repairing an irreplaceable power supply you would not ask this question
