I recieved my Elan II in the mail today, and this is my first camera that uses C2R5 batteries. What can i expect for a battery life with normal useage. The Elan is my first film camera so i have my Rebel XT to base my battery avg on.
I know this may seem like a silly question, but id like to get a general idea so i can figure if it will be worth buying the battery grip "BP-50" and the extra weight.
Buy the battery grip and save yourself a lot of frustration and money. It also has an extra button for vertical shots.I'd say you'll get about 50 36 exp. rolls using the flash 25% of the time wth the c2r5.
Canon's projections for expected battery life are found on page 18 of the manual. That gives a range between 6 and 110 24 exposure rolls, depending on factors like ambient temperature, use of the built in flash and whether eye controlled focus is being used.
I bought the BK-50 but rarely install it.
I also bought extra 2CR5 batteries - through the internet they are quite reasonable.
