It wouldn't be the first time a dealer has said a product was not available, then blamed the distributor, when in reality they simply don't want to carry it. Personally I couldn't see Kodak Australia not assigning a SKU as a special order item, then let the dealers decide if the demand was there or not.

What he said.

Okay, checked with Total Photographic Supplies (Formerly L&P Photo) in Kent Town, South Australia, Today. They have Ektar in 120 in stock, and I asked them about the supply issue. They confirmed that Kodak Australia doesnt want anything to do with Ektar 100, and they have been getting it direct from Kodak overseas - I assume via Kodak US. They have no idea why either, and weren't pleased about it, or Kodak Australia's behaviour in general.
So there you go - Not available, officially, in Australia.

And then Kodak Australia wonders why their products "don't sell"?
Hard to fathom why, when they themselves don't want to sell them...

I think that the local Kodak agent here in NZ really sucks when it comes to film - even worse than Aussie if you can believe that - Ektar is hard to get and even blimmin Tri-X is scarce.. Folks, I want to spend money with you, can you give me something to spend my money on please!!!!

slightly O/T... walking into Vanbars (in Carlton) is a bit depressing... used to have 4 big rows of analog related stuff, now it's down to 1. The rest has been over taken with inkjet paper. What amazes me is people must buy that stuff (and the ink to splash on it) in quantities to warrant such stocks. Nothing cheap about that side of digital photography! Thankfully, Vanbars still sell some stuff I'm interested in.

Sucky.

It's the attitude of Australia, it's a self-reducing cycle owing to that attitude, seeing photos of Japanese camera shops... and they have rows of just different film stocks.. as opposed to something like ted's in brisbane which is a "major" supplier with a minifridge that is 1/4 full :/

Anyway I gota 5 pack of Ektar 100 in 120 from joshua cohen on ebay from the U.S. along with 2 5 packs of Reala 120
