Ektar 100 in B/W Chemicals

Anyone have any experience with developing ektar 100 in ilfosol 3 or ddx? I have a roll I shot recently that I would rather develop at home than send it to my local lab (their output has been really hit or miss lately). I have developed expired color film in the past with some reasonable results but I wasn't sure if anyone here knew of a good rule of thumb for 100 speed C41 films in b/w chemicals. Thanks!

Why waste all that color information? If you tell us where you are we might be able to point you to a more dependable lab.

I have tried this in the past and it yields a really strange negative. If you plan on printing silver gelatin from the negatives - forget about it, the orange mask in the film base makes it nearly impossible to get any results worthwhile. If you use digital means you will be better off, but I would rather recommend finding a good color lab to process your film.

Develop as color and still print to b&w paper. There will be some tonal shift, but probably not noticeable to the untrained eye.
