Ektachrome E100 test rolls are OUT

3 new shots have appeared from the new Ektachrome! These are all taken by photographer Sandra Coan, and one is directly from her Instagram page which I’ll link. I’m dying to get my hands on some of this stuff now.

Based on those it's going to be interesting to see the first Ektachrome and Provia comparison shots.

At last some good scans. Really impressed with the results in proper studio lighting and talented hands. According to Sandra Coan, she used Richard Photo Lab and the scans were made on a Noritsu scanner.

None of the beta’s have commented on projection ability, but since it’s closely based on E100G I’d assume the figures for fade time and longevity are similar. As to how it looks, I hope it’s good!

They are too busy adjusting the saturation to maximum in Fauxto$hop to recall what a slide project is or its use.

I belong to a 35mm Film Photography group on Facebook and the interest frp, young people is definitely climbing. However, most posters do not seem to be in the US. What I do see is quite a few from Asia and South America and a LOT from Russia.

Have they said when this new E100 will be avilable? I now have picked up so many projectors and trays that I have been threatened with eviction to the barn if i don't start using some of it.

Possibly. I happen to love Michael’s use of it it and I have used the technique for one client in particular who’s role is bringing people together with opposing political views.

It’s not a technique for everything but when it is the right fit, it’s a good method.

You mean for high end publications, discerning art directors and ease of color reproduction by end users who greatly benefit from not having to second guess color nuance in the final product? Why yes, I would agree.

I have a top shelf Leica Pradovit RT-M projector I ought to sell, I stopped projecting slides a long time ago when I noticed the colors shifting on images that really needed to remain archivally intact for a host of reasons. I much prefer looking at prints.

Yeah, to be honest I’m not really a fan. For something that shows beta results, a flat scan is what I’d want to see.

No they are not, they are in camera doubles. Michael does not use “post production” to arrive at any of his work.

Is he running the film through twice?

Someone posted some lovely shots on facebook done like that, film shot once in Paris then again in Hong Kong I think it was.
