Ektachrome 100 is about to touch down here and it has been announced by one dealer (Vanbar Melb/Camperdown NSW) that it will be priced at AUD$26.00 (135/36), with E6 processing additional at AUD$12.90 (a roll would be around $18.90 USD, but lower with introductory pricing). The pricing is considerably higher than crowd favourite Provia 100F (mostly 120 format being sold) at an average price of AUD$17.90 (135/36) for no real, significant difference other than a cool Ektar-like palette. At this time only Velvia 50 in 135/36 is neck-to-neck with Ektachrome 100 in pricing. Velvia 100 tops the lot at an eye-watering $39.74 a roll.

I think online dealers will undercut street-level prices of Ektachrome 100 considerably in time, but it is a case of wait-and-see as to how the local market reacts to a much anticipated reintroduced film being made available at a not anticipated higher price.

That is a bit more compared to the US - Poisson Du Jour. A bit more than a bit. Perhaps to someone in Australia a "poissonable" bit.
I can't say if it is from the shipping or if it is caused from high taxes.
You mentioned the special market in Australia I just remember from last year.
with regards
