(this is not a digital sucks thread. don't make it one)

Eggleston was recently interviewed for Interview Magazine.

Here is a snippet:

HK: What about digital photography?
WE: Don't know anything about it.
HK: Have you ever shot with a digital camera?
WE: As I said, I don't know anything about it. I don't know, I might love it.
HK: You're not opposed to it?
WE: There's plenty of film out there, and quadrillions of cameras that use film-I don't think it makes much sense not to use it. The thing that's going out is the manufacturing of the paper. Incidentally, all these years my wife has told me that I'm color-blind.

The rest of the interview is worth reading too.

Wow, you should have mentioned that Harmony Korine was the interviewer - I'm actually more familiar with him than with Eggleston...he's one of my favourite film makers.

Although I'm sure Eggleston is worthwhile as well

Loving the photos in this posting.

you actually like this interviewer?? they repeatedly make an ass of themselves by asking ridiculous questions....Eggleston could care less about opinions although he slogs through the interview....like a true artist
best, Peter

Wow, didn't realize my comment would actually get an upsetting response - I like Harmony Korine's movies that's all...so, settle down.

Oh, and almost all interviewers act lame - have you ever had to conduct an interview? Even if you thoroughly know the subject matter you typically have to approach the use of questions in such a dull way to cater to those who have no concept of anything being discussed...it's all a rather boring process really - I'd say he did an average job as most do.

Oh, and Harmony Korine is quite a tallented and thoughtful artist in his own right, please review his work - I suggest 'Julien Donkey-boy', 'Gummo', and of course his acclaimed 'Kids'.

Sorry, just being a fan.
